Enjoy the scintillating verse of three of the most gifted contemporary poets living in the UK today - Moniza Alvi, Tom Chivers and Helen Mort. Moniza Alvi has published six collections of poetry of which the most recent are 'Split World: Poems 1990-2005' and 'Europa.' Moniza received a Cholmondeley Award in 2002. She lives in London and tutors for the Poetry School. Tom Chivers lives in the East End where he runs live literature promoter and publisher 'Penned in the Margins' and co-directs London Word Festival. His first collection 'How To Build A City' was published this year by Salt, as well as a pamphlet 'The Terrors' from Nine Arches Press, dubbed "dark London history, dredged and interrogated" by Iain Sinclair. He was Poet in Residence at The Bishopsgate Institute and his edited volumes include 'Generation Txt' and 'City State: New London Poet.' Helen Mort's first pamphlet 'the shape of every box' was published in 2007 by tall-lighthouse, and her second 'a pint for the ghost' has just been released. She won an Eric Gregory Award in 2007 and the Manchester Young Writer Prize in 2008. She is currently working on a live literature show combining her love of ghost stories with her love of pubs.

Turn up early to register for an open mic slot.
