Lyrical Minded poetry night (pt 2)

This event on 24th October 2009 has past.

Open Mic Event

Contact: Box Office: 0117 9223686

Organiser: Ujima Radio (www.ujimaradio.com)

Lyrical Minded are doing it again! A night of poetry, spoken word plus open mic, with Bristol's best wordsmiths hosted by Miles Chambers, AKA, Milo.

Talking Tekla The Narrata, Nathan Filer, Steve Duncan, Agatha Knowles, Guest appearance from Edson Burton and Julius, giving us a taste of some belly jerking stand up comedy.

Featuring music from Cassette Baby and some surprise guests.

There will be no-one 'wandering lonely as a cloud', 'stopping all the clocks', 'barely daring to breathe' or Achoo, 'keeping their heads when all about them are losing theirs'. No. This is inspirational performance poetry for the 21st century: a lyrical extravaganza which takes to the stage and offsets the current recessional vibe with an honest and emotive use of language. Someone may push the boat out and don a pair of false eyelashes but I doubt it. Take tissues; a pair of clappety hands; a friend who can whistle with two fingers; a BBC film crew, very high heels (women)/ a box (men) and anyone you want to impress
