Poetry Wales is delighted to announce a reading at Bangor University by the following poets:

Jules Boykoff from the USA has written poetry collections Hegemonic Love Potion (Factory School, 2009) and Once Upon a Neoliberal Rocket Badge (Edge Books, 2006). As well as being a poet he has published critically on the mass media, advised the UN on climate change, and been a professional soccer player. He teaches political science and writing at Pacific University in Oregon, USA.

Kaia Sand, also from the USA, has published Interval (Edge, 2004), while her new work investigates political geography in Portland, Oregon, and contains a poetry walk she guides. She is an energetic small press publisher and teaches at Pacific University and Portland State University.

Harriet Tarlo is a poet and academic whose books include Poems 1990-2003 (Shearsman Books, 2004) and Nab (Etruscan Books, 2005). She also writes academic essays on modernist and contemporary poetry with particular attention to “radical landscape poetry”. She lectures at Sheffield Hallam University.

Nerys Williams' collection of poems is forthcoming from Seren, and she has published essays in Poetry Wales for many years. Originally from Wales, Nerys writes critically on Welsh and American poetry. She lectures at University College Dublin.

Elzbieta Wojcik-Leese is the European Contributing Editor of Poetry Wales and a literary translator and editor. From Poland and currently living in Denmark, she will present some translations of leading poets from Poland.

The reading will begin at 6pm, but refreshments will be available beforehand from 5.30pm. All welcome.
