Andy Croft lives in Middlesbrough and runs Smokestack Books. As well as eight poetry collections he’s published widely on the British Labour Movement. Of his latest collection, Sticky (Flambard, 2009), Alan Dent wrote: ‘Croft knows how to stay this side of despair, to remain gently and convincingly compassionate, friendly and human in the face of the worst we are capable of. Everything about this book works at the highest level …’
Emma McGordon was born in 1982 in West Cumbria, where she currently lives following journalism work and study at Liverpool University. Encouraged by Barry MacSweeney she published her first collection The Hangman and The Stars (Blacksuede Boot Press) in 2000.
