World class poets share a stage with poets from the region
Tom Pow won Scottish Poetry Book of the Year with 'Dear Alice', his recent collection inspired by the archives of the Crichton Mental Hospital. He will also read tonight from his most recent collection, 'In the Becoming'. Tom's poems explore landscape, and his interest in how history and narrative shape our understanding of the present.
Liz Niven is an award-winning Glasgow-born poet who is based in Dumfries. Her collections include 'Stravaigin' and 'Burning Whins'. She has collaborated with artists on a number of Poetry in Public Spaces projects. She has a deserved reputation as one of the best contemporary poets writing in both Scots and English.
