Songs of Life and Hope

An evening of Mexican poetry and music from the first half of the 20th Century, including the turbulent years of the Mexican Revolution and its aftermath. Listen to readings from the work of poets scuch as Josie Juan Tablada, Enrique Gonzalez Martinez, Ramon Lopez Velarde and the Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario, together with Mexican songs from the period.

All poetry will be read in in the original Spanish and in English translation by the actors Jeronimo Best and Lucy Tregear. Speakers include Stephen Hart, Dawn Ades, Ignacio Duren Loera and Jason Wilson.
