Sally Baker
Sally Baker was born in Suffolk and now lives in west Yorkshire. She teaches poetry for the WEA and works as a gardener for the NHS. She was selected for the Jerwood Aldeburgh seminar in 2007 and received an Arts Council award in 2009 which enabled her to take up a residency on the Fielding Programme. Her pamphlet 'The Sea and the Forest' is published by Smith/Doorstop books.
Julia Deakin
Julia Deakin lives near Huddersfield. Her poems have been widely published and much acclaimed. Julia is a good friend of the Albert Poets. Her first collection, Without a Dog, was published by Graft Poetry in 2008. Crafted, tender poems, written with passion and purpose. An impressive debut --Simon Armitage
Steve Garside
Steve Garside is a self-taught visual artist, poet and published writer. He is currently involved in his first solo art exhibition 'Our World', which fuses his landscape paintings with children's poetry themed on the environment. Steve works as a child protection social worker.
Sally Goldsmith
Sally Goldsmith was a songwriter and community artist before she took to poetry. Her songs and poems have been broadcast on Radio 4 in plays and features. She is the joint winner, with playwright Rony Robinson, of several radio awards including a Bronze Sony. 'Singer' is her first pamphlet and was a first-stage winner in the 2008 Poetry Business Book & Pamphlet Competition chosen by Michael Longley. She lives on the edge of Sheffield near the Peak District.
