WP Hosts The World Cup

An international cabaret to kick off the World Cup in South Africa,celebrate World Music and launch two new poetry collections:

'Host' by Sarah Hymas: a debut collection supported by Arts Council England, exploring a family's roots in Yorkshire, and travels by land and sea beyond.

'A feast of defamiliarization and significant foregrounding, a nourishing image of lives and landscapes' - Herbert Lomas

'The World Cup' by Naomi Foyle: a second collection to follow the PBS Recommended The Night Pavilion. Warm, witty and humane poems about football, travel, and global politics.

'Subtle and wild, passionate and wise' - Judith Kazantzis

With poems from all five continents and music from:

Linos Wengara Magaya: One of the UK's foremost mbiri players, and leader of the Zimbaremabwe music collective.

Los Bonobos: The eccentic French/German folk duo. Plenty of costume changes!
