Fanny Howe and Tom Raworth: this is the thirty-ninth event in THE BLUE BUS series.
Fanny Howe will be launching her latest book, Emergence, which has just appeared from Reality Street Editions. Emergence brings back into print Fanny Howe’s earlier poetry, originally published in the 1980s and ‘90s and long unavailable. Howe is the author of On the Ground, The Lyrics, and Gone, amongst other collections of poetry. A reprint of her five novels, Radical Love, has recently appeared. She has won several awards for her poetry and taught at the University of California, San Diego, for many years.
Tom Raworth is a key figure in contemporary UK poetry, who has published over forty books. Amongst his more recent collections are Clean & Well Lit, Meadow, Collected Poems, Caller and Other Pieces, and Let Baby Fall. He is noted for his powerful performances of his own poetry.
Future participants in The Blue Bus series will include Carol Watts and Michael Zand (20th July), Adrian Clarke, Wayne Clements and Jeff Hilson (17th August), Ken Edwards and Harry Gilonis (14th September), Robert Sheppard and Hazel Smith (12th October) and Christopher Gutkind and James Wilkes (9th November).
