Portugal sits on the edge of the Atlantic and was one of the first European nations to explore and colonise the four corners of the world. Portuguese-speaking communities - in Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Angola and Mozambique, Goa, Macau and East Timor - are celebrated through the voices of Cape Verde-based Corsino Fortes, Angola's Ana Paula Taveres, and Valter Hugo Mae from Portugal. Introduced by Dr Juliet Perkins of King's College London.
