Misery Begins at Home, Book Launch!!
This event on 19th August 2010 at 20:00 has past.
Four of Write Out Loud's finest poets, Rachel Bond, Marianne Daniels, John Darwin and Winston Plowes, got together some months ago to produce a collection of poetry and wish to invite you into the dark heart of their verse... though there's some lighter stuff too!
"This is not a light hearted collection. It is a book that will leave an indentation where it sits on the bookshelf; a book that will darkly resonate in your mind for hours. Raw rich in atmosphere and imagery, claustrophobic and mercilessly intense; the poems in Misery Begins at Home share a love for the powers, density and potential effects of language as well as themes of loss, love, identity, rejection and illicit unions. This book will bruise your fingers and sting your heart. " Gaia Holmes
A night of music and poetry and the odd glass of wine thrown in for good measure.
The creators of "Misery Begins at Home" invite you to celebrate the launch, with readings from the collection and guest poets.
More details to follow shortly, please support some local poets who have dared to self publish!!!!
