Jackie Kay, Forward Prize winner and one of Britain’s most distinguished poets, together with fellow poets Nii Ayikwei Parkes and Simon Murray, reads from Red, the first anthology of contemporary Black British poetry for ten years. Peepal Tree Press have brought together work by 80 poets, from tonight’s speakers to Linton Kwesi Johnson, John Agard, Patience Agbabi and Dorothea Smartt, each writing with the word ‘red’ in mind – ‘as a kind of a leap-off point, a context, a germ’.
