BEAT - CAMBRIDGE VERSUS LONDON
This event on 11th October 2010 at 20:00 has past.
Line Up:
Mal Faloon - Cambridge girl with furious, free flowing, slightly left tilted political poetry
Fay Roberts - Cambridge based Fay is a 34-year-old classically trained singer from Cardiff who started performing at the age of 4. She has been getting stuff published since the age of 18. She was bitten by the performance poetry bug in Spring 2006 after a favour to a friend turned into a place in the final of a poetry slam.
Helena M. O’Neill - Helena O'Neill washed up on these shores a mere babe and has been trying to leave London since the age of five. She has aped da Gama and Magellan but something keeps pulling her back here; she just hasn't figured out what it is yet. It certainly isn't the weather, nor the PhD she just quit, nor the job she just gave up to become a voluntary do-gooder. Helena has always written stuff, mainly poetry she's too shy to publish; she's currently writing her first novel, which she hopes someone will publish. She's working on the shyness.
Natalie Leer - London based Natalie Leer first took part in the slam in 2003, and went on to be a valued and inspirational member of the showcase team that year and each year following. She is a founder member of the Poetry SLAMbassadors, and brings with her uncompromising poetry, a commanding stage presence and the unnerving ability to tap into the universal. http://www.myspace.com/natalieleer
Patrick Widdess - Cambridge poet with original, analytic observations with quirky twists http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2005/jan/24/poetry6, runs Headstand on Cambridge 105
