OpenSpace is a new event at Earth Cafe, Manchester celebrating it's third and biggest yet event as a Halloween Special.

The premise of this event is an OpenMind for new ideas, and an OpenSpace for creativity.

The event is split into two halves. In the first half OpenMind, I introduce the guest artist and they present a new work in progress piece, and then after performing it discuss it with the audience.

After a short break for some of Earth's lovely cake and refreshments, the second half OpenSpace commences. The second half is an OpenSpace for creativity so we encourage all performance styles: short scripts, singing, dancing, improv acting, stand up comedy, poetry, spoken word, hip hop, instrumentals, bands etc.

Another part of the ethos of OpenMind is that it is always an OpenSpace for creativity, and so don't be surprised if in the break some improv theatre or performance pieces come to life. Last month Sean Fitton played flute whilst my partner Cas dropped a beat and co-founder Jamal improvised with words.

We hope you can make the event and encourage performers of all styles to take part in our OpenSpace, and we're always looking for guest artists.
