Hi Zero 3
This event on 30th April 2011 at 19:30 has past.
Upstairs at the HOPE, essentially unmissable, re:
LEE HARWOOD
(20+ collections of poetry plus collected & selected works out on Shearsman, Harwood is a major British poet and Ashbery’s favourite. His poetry spans the sheer and gorgeous to rollicking translations of Tristan Tzara, infinite objects and all they contain; apart from us.
PETER GIZZI
(Winner of the Lavan Younger Poets Award and the American Book Award, Editor of Jack Spicer, Current Poet in Residence at Faculty of English at the University of Cambridge, Gizzi’s published poetry includes Periplum (Avec, 1992), Artificial Heart (Burning Deck Press, 1998), Fin Amor (Tougher Disguises, 2002), Some Values of Landscape and Weather (Wesleyan, 2003) and The Outernationale (Wesleyan, 2007). His poetry expands the lyric gesture to a joyous, fearful reconciliation. Good. http://epc.buffalo.edu/authors/gizzi/
SARAH KELLY
(Kelly has not yet won the American Book Award but is yet a frightfully exciting younger poet, a recent graduate of the Sussex Creative & Critical writing program and has published and read widely within the UK scene. Her work traces the discrete tendencies in shape and line to emerge fitful in a stack of skin. True. www.signalsmagazine.co.uk/6/kelly.php
