In Barn Theatre
Joe Winter at the Tagore Festival will talk about living and working in Santiniketan, the village where Tagore started a school and a university. He will read from his translation of 'Song Offerings' (`Gitanjali') and from 'The Golden Boat', a selection of translations from the more than forty books of poetry by Tagore. Joe will highlight the Tagorean journey, as it may be termed, of the creative soul in a practical world, confirming Tagore as a dreamer and doer, and many-sided character who was first and foremost a Poet.
