A Poem & A Pint returns to The Malt Kiln for an action-packed evening with not one but two guest poets.
Sarah Hymas describes herself as “a poet, editor, performer, career coach, sailor and anti-hoovering campaigner”. Her first poetry collection 'Host' was published by Waterloo Road last year. A vital and engaging reader of her work, Sarah Hymas’s poems are written to be spoken: lyrical, intimate and rhythmic.
Equally original, Graham Austin's wry, curious and witty explorations of the ironies of life and the idiosyncrasies of those who live it can be found in his several collections, notably Fuelling Speculation (HappenStance, 2010)
Complementing this unusual pairing will be music from Demix, with Rod Demick's inventive guitar supporting Sarah's gorgeous voice.
Plus poetry from the floor - book a slot at the door. MC is Ross Baxter. Please note: no bar at this venue so bring your own pints.
