Chroma presents... New Queer Poetry by Sophie Mayer and John McCullough, with special guest Andra Simons
Sip a glass of wine, wear your finery and celebrate the coming of summer with passionate and flirtatious poems as Chroma and Gay's the Word celebrate the launch of 'The Frost Fairs' by John McCullough and 'The Private Parts of Girls' by Sophie Mayer (both from Salt Publishing, 2011).
Chroma is proud to present a reading by Sophie (our Commissioning Editor) and John (winner of second prize in the Chroma International Writing Competition, 2008), from collections which form a major contribution to a new wave of queer poetry in Britain. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, intersex and post-gender narrators, characters, histories and bodies dance through these collections: whether skating on the frozen Thames or facing down a god, they demand your attention - and reward it with elegance, wit and style.
Chroma's Andra Simons will round off the evening with a lyrical extravaganza.
