Word Life is currently the longest running poetry event in Sheffield, and having run sporadic shows as part of larger events such as Sheffield Poetry Festival and Off The Shelf Literature festival We’re happy to announce we’re be back with monthly shows from now on. To kick things off we’ve hooked up with the Bannoffee Tour Collective who will be appearing alongside a host of local poets.

Bridie Jackson and the Big Society
Bridie has supported an eclectic mix of musicians, including Nick Harper, Viking Moses, Chango Spasiuk, Matt Costa, Alisdaire Roberts, Cara Dillon, and most recently, John Smith.
Kid Kirby: Emerging Singer songwriter from Newcastle, Kid Kirby’s delicate intricate songs are both poignant and moving. Having promoted various acoustic events in Newcastle over the past few years, she’s picked up the guitar again and is touring her new solo project.
Poetry from:
Alabaster Deplume: having performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury Festival, and around Europe, Alabaster has been described as “Harrowingly funny” by Citylifers.co.uk in Manchester, where he is based.
Mark Doyle: precursed by a formative intimacy with both the Peak District’s eastern edges and Nottingham’s inner city, Mark’s poetry plays out an uneasy dialogue between natures and cultures.
