The Lost Menagerie by Chris Redmond - reworked in full
When we lose someone we love, we feel torn. Part of us wants to go with them, but death is just part of life and life is for living…right? Even if we have no faith, we nurture beliefs, but in the face of such loss, even they can crumble. Where do we look? How do we learn?
The Lost Menagerie is a story-poem of a man, running from the city and himself, after the sudden death of his best friend. A strange encounter with a beautiful flower takes him on an extraordinary journey. Ideas dissolve, boundaries blur, whole worlds form and seeing is no longer weighed down by the compulsion to believe.
Developed at the BAC, these shows are the result of a week’s residency and will be performed as part of BAC’s Scratch Bar. The 28th and 29th will be the full show with musical accompaniment but in a much more stripped back, intimate way than it's been presented previously. The 30th will offer excerpts, no music, just words, to explore in a scratch context whether there is mileage in presenting it this way as well.
Time: 9:00pm
