'The Commonword Ghosts Project' has been collecting the unrecorded histories of the clubs of Moss Side and Hulme through the 50's to 80's.
Clubs like the Nile, Reno and PSV were key in bringing communities together in the 50s and 60s and were a significant part of the contribution of the Caribbean community to the richness and diversity of modern Manchester.
Inspired by the memories and anecdotes collected by Commonword, poet Dominic Berry will be coordinating a special ANIMAL WRITES workshop open to all and only the usual £1 to get in.
You do not have to be veggie or vegan to come, it just happens to be in a gorgeous veggie restaurant we meet, you do not have to have any existing knowledge / experience of creative writing or of the Commonword Ghosts Project, indeed we are a relaxed, friendly, chatty group who always welcome new folk along. Our ever attentive host Robin has a great selection of drinks, cakes, hot and cold food for sale, so you won't go hungry either!
Price: £1.00
Time: 3:00pm
