Open Mic Event
Contact: adele@wardwoodpublishing.co.uk
Adele Ward presents:
Popular North London poet Peter Phillips reading from his latest collection 'No School Tie' followed by open mic.
Plus a chance for all open mic readers to submit to the Friday Night Writers anthology.
In this, his fourth collection, Peter Phillips looks both back, at his schooldays, and forward with the birth of twin grandchildren. He listens in on imaginary conversations and monologues, remembers poet Julia Casterton and ponders on love and its effects in poems that, like life itself, blend sadness and humour.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6.15 pm start
If you would like to read then bring a poem up to 40 lines or short prose up to 1,000 words. The best submissions will be published by Ward Wood Publishing in the Friday Night Anthology, June 2012.
23rd September 2011 at 18:00
Mike Loveday, editor of 14 Magazine, will read from his Happenstance pamphlet He Said She Said. Books, pamphlets and magazines with details about how to submit will be on the books table.
