We have quite a line-up for you coming up! Our friend and colleague Donald Adamson for whom we have the greatest admiration.
Bakehouse favourite and prize winner David Mark Williams, Bakehouse newcomer, Andrew Mitchell (Taking You Home: poems and translations with Iain Crichton Smith and Derrick Thomson) with the possible addition of a Finnish poet we are hoping will be in the region. More of that anon.
Translations of Finnish poems and songs
Donald Adamson is a poet and translator, who taught Creative Writing and Translation Studies in Finnish Universities until his recent retirement. Alongside his own collections, Finnish translations include ‘How to address the fog: Finnish poems 1978-2002’ (Carcanet/Scottish Poetry Library, 2005), and poems for the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki; also songs for Värttinä (acclaimed Finnish World Music Ensemble).
Donald will be joined by David Mark Williams, Andrew Mitchell and others who will read their work after the interval.
