Iconic Jamaican dub poet and storyteller, Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze is live in Ilkley for National Poetry Day, with Irish writer and poet Aoife Mannix. ‘Binta’ Breeze’s new poetry collection, Third World Girl, brings together new writing and celebrated poems from her four previous collections.
Mannix, the author of four collections, is poet in residence on BBC R4’s Saturday Live and at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
This is a full evening with an interval and finishes at 9.10pm.

The event begins with the launch of a new literary award for Black and Asian women writers by Soroptimist International of Leeds, ILF and Peepal Tree Press.
