Scottish poet and playwright, Liz Lochhead, is the leading writer of her generation. One of Scotland’s most popular dramatists, in January she became Scotland’s Makar or national poet. Her poetry is thought-provoking and entertaining and full of the idioms of speech. Lochhead makes lyrical use of rap, colloquialisms and advertising language as she strives to highlight the marginalised voices of both Scots and women.
