The Word House is a brand new spoken word night in the heart of East London.
This Autumn, we are back showcasing three exceptional poets from the Live Literature circuit and offering Open Mic slots for anybody who wants to share their work.
In the capable hands of our resident poet Dan Simpson, and with original music mixed by the incredible DJ Able, there is no reason to miss out. Books and CDs also available for sale on the night.

This time round:
Inua Ellams is an award winning poet and performer, now a leading figure on London's spoken word scene. He has been described as ?the love child of John Keats & Mos Def?, crossing 18th century romanticism and traditional story telling with strong hip hop influences.
JOHN BERKAVITCH described by BBC Radio 4 as ?a veteran of the spoken word scene?, John Berkavitch is the 2007 UK Slam Champion and the 2007 Glastonbury Slam Champion. He mixes rap, ironic wit, beatbox, sensitive social observation, unrequited love, and a passionate distaste for authority.
CHRISTIAN WATSON is a Hastings based poet with poems that range in subject from falling in love with a mannequin?s legs to the imminent arrival of a zombie apocalypse. He is a bright rising star of the South East performance poetry scene, not afraid to mix confession with home-spun philosophy and outright fantasy.
OPEN MIC: All styles welcome. Email thewordhousepoetry@live.co.uk to reserve a spot.
