Wednesday, on the 25th January, Luke Wright will be coming to Oxford to give an exclusive poetry reading.
Luke Wright is a poet and broadcaster from Suffolk whose fame stretches across Europe. His first book launched a full-scale attack on modern day language, and since then there has been no stopping him. Since 2006 he has produced five stage shows and performed them to sold-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, earning 5* reviews. Luke also writes poetry for films, such as ‘Crash! Bang! Wallow!’ which won best animated film at Cannes 2010, and he hosts The Poetry Arena at the Latitude Festival, the largest poetry event in Europe. He is currently touring his latest work, ‘Cynical Ballads’, eight tales spanning the rough underbelly of Britain, alongside a crash-course in balladry from broadsides to Christina Aguilera.
“The best young performance poet around.” The Observer
“One of the funniest and most brilliant poets of his generation.” Johann Hari, The Independent
