In association with Stony Words: The Bardic Trials 2012

An open competition to which performers of poetry, music, story-telling and song are invited to shine before an audience of their peers and a panel of esteemed judges. Over three rounds, contenders will demonstrate their competence and capability in captivating a crowd, and the new Bard of Stony Stratford will emerge. All are welcome to take part - singers, songwriters, storytellers and speakers of words - anyone who has a voice and knows how to use it can compete for the status of Bard.

Join us for a celebration of the bardic tradition in an evening of the very finest poetry and spoken word performance with special guest appearances from the current Bard of Stony Stratford, Ian Freemantle; the poet Laureate of Milton Keynes, Mark Niel; the head of the Bardic Chair of Northampton, Justin Thyme; Poetry Kapow's founder member Fay Roberts, plus the crusaders of the Bard-Aid Initiative, The Antipoet.

Ably hosted and competently compered by Stephen Hobbs.

Contenders for the Bardic Trials can put their name down on the night or on the facebook page.
