What if every human emotion we have ever experienced was a drug, as addictive and dangerous as any illegal one? What if love is just another psychological addiction? What then?

Join local poet Charlotte Henson for the launch of her second anthology “Pharmacopoeia” which asks just this question. Supported by BBC Media City UK poet-in-residence and slam champion, Mark Mace Smith aka ThudDub, who will be promoting his own book “Jobseeker’s Annoyance”, an entertaining, thought-provoking and relaxed evening will be had by all. There will be an opportunity for members of the audience to read their own poetry before the evening begins.

The event will be held at Bury Library at 7PM on 16th April 2012. Entry is £3 or £2 for library members. There will be a question and answer session immediately afterwards.

Prior to the event, Charlotte will be running an hour-long workshop titled “Advanced Poetics: Working With Words” for people of all ages and abilities. Entry is £3/ £2 for library members and entitles attendees to free entry to the ‘Pharmacopoeia’ launch.

(Please note, that whilst the event does allow members of the audience to read their own poems, it will likely be only one, since it isn't primarily an open mic event.)
