Apples and Snakes presents
Gallery Sessions

Join us for a delectable selection of top-notch poetry in the relaxed and bright Gallery Café and bar. This month we bring you enchanting storytellers and inspiring spoken words from local, national and international artists.

Rachel Rose Reid is a spell-binding storyteller who creates performances which melt boundaries between the oral tradition of our ancestors and the spoken word of today. Her stories have real power and Rachel wields them with rich skill and abandon.

Chanje Kunda brings together African music, movement and traditional African fables to create empowering Poetry. Travelling from Amsterdam just for us.

Joining them is the multi-talented slam champion Raymond Antrobus, a spoken word artist and writer from Hackney. Ray’s poems are full of passion and thoughtful metaphors often taking inspiration from his own heartfelt experiences. Beginning the evening we welcome Barnstaple poet, writer and theatre maker Bryony Chave-Cox who will be reading a couple of specially selected pieces for you.
