Join us for Once More With Meaning - Bury's best (and only) poetry open mic night. Bring two poems, and we'll bring the stage.
We've got a large performance space in a theatre with a multi-tier stage, access to one of the best bars with the most variety in Bury, a prize for the best open mic-er and amazing guests - now all we need is you!
(entrance is through The Automatic - since the door is a little out of the way, simply ask a member of staff at the restaurant for directions and they'll point you the right way.)

LAURA TAYLOR
Laura Taylor comes from the Lancashire village of Rainhill but now lives in St Helens, because someone of quality has to. She has been published in The Best of Manchester Poets Vol 2, Incandescent Poetry, Leeds Debacle magazine (three times) and Red Fez.net. She recently came 3rd in Wigan's 'Greenheart' competition.
THE WORKING VERSE COLLECTIVE
Kieran King :
covers subjects such as politics, racism, heavy metal snobs and wanting to be a superhero. Tickling him behind the ear has been proven to soothe him.
David Viney :
(Dave to everyone but his mum) grew up in Stretford, Manchester (a place he describes as "The place that you drive through to get to somewhere nice" - though in reality, if he stays away from the area for too long, he gets an outbreak of nostalgia poems and a pang for poundshops)
Benny-Jo Zahl:
Born with a pint of joey holts bitter firmly in hand, Benny-Jo Zahl has been making a prat of himself in public for as long as he (or anyone else) cares to remember. Blending the rhythms of his musical influences, surreal humour and a unique logic-devoid way of looking at the world around him he's finally put his directionless scribblings to good use
