Poetry and song with Caroline Trettine and Mirabeau

Mirabeau is a project which brings together poetry and music.

Poet Richard Price and singer-songwriter Caroline Trettine work with musicians Ian Kearey, Roberto Sainz La Maza, David Chapman and others.

Caroline Trettine began her career as singer, writer and rhythm guitarist for the Blue Aeroplanes. Going solo she was discovered by Billy Bragg and toured with him and Christy Moore with a CD out on Utility Records. She experimented with hip-hop, making a dance version of Baudelaire's 'Le Voyage', followed by an album of poetry and songs - 'Ten Light Years'. She writes and sings for the band The Winnebago Orchestra with Spencer Roberts. In recent years, she has written chamber musicals, a string quartet, beat songs, satire and sonnets.

Richard Price is a novelist and poet.
His first novel, The Island, is 'a story of rare qualities that many writers aim for and few achieve. Read it - it'll be one of the most beautiful nightmares you'll ever have.' - Toby Litt. His poetry collections include Lucky Day, Greenfields, and Rays.

Ian Keary has worked with the Blue Aeroplanes, Oysterband, Pete Astor, John Fahey and many others, including Caroline Trettine over many years. A multi-instrumentalist, in addition to Mirabeau he also currently plays with the Ray Cooper Trio, Duck Soup and Sussex Pistols; he has three solo albums on Dan Leno Records, and his guitar playing was described by the NME as 'filling in the dots between Martin Carthy and Ry Cooder brilliantly'
