The Ginger Light is an attempt to blur the boundaries that exist between spoken word, music, sound design and song and, since forming last year, they have already performed regularly in central London.

In July '09, they headlined a sell-out poetry event at the ICA, have participated in the Serpentine Gallery poetry marathon alongside Brian Eno, Gilbert and George, among others, and have regularly performed at various venues such as the Horse Hospital, Bistroteque, Cabaret Futura, Dalston Superstore and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Jeremy Reed is a prolific British poet and writer who has published over 40 books, which, as well as his own award-winning poetry and fiction, include work on Scott Walker, Lou Reed, Elvis Presley, Billy Holiday and Arthur Rimbaud. His most recent publications are 'West End Survival Kit' (Waterloo Press, 2009), 'The King of Carnaby Street: A Life of John Stephens' (Hause Publishing, 2010), and 'Bona Drag' (Shearsman Books, 2009), 'Piccadilly Bongo', a collaboration with Marc Almond (2010, Enitharmon Press), 'Bona Vada', (2011, Waterloo), 'Black Russian - Out-Takes from the Airmen's Club 1978-79' (also published by Waterloo this year). Some of the awards Jeremy has won include the Somerset Maugham prize for poetry and his writing has been hailed by figures as diverse as JG Ballard, Seamus Heaney, Kathleen Raine, John Ashbery, David Gascoyne, James Merill, Richard Hell, Bjork and Pete Doherty.
