Roger McGough is one of Britain's best-known poets whose high-spirited poetry has gained increasing popularity over the years. The affable presenter of BBC Radio 4?s ?Poetry Please? has been described by Carol Ann Duffy as 'the patron saint of poetry' and his unpretentious poems often address everyday ingenious concerns through subtle rhyme and dexterous word play.
Frieda Hughes, the daughter of former Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes, and Sylvia Plath, the celebrated American poet, was well established as a successful painter and as a popular writer of children's books, before her poems appeared in print. With four poetry collections of her own published by Bloodaxe Books since 1999, Frieda Hughes is now regarded as an important poet in her own right.
