A pro-feminist night, men are welcome to perform as long as their material is female friendly; preferably their set could include a piece by a woman author. Performers can read current or forgotten female poets.

Happy Birthday Stirred! Monday 1st October is our anniversary, so do come celebrate with us. Hosts: Rebecca Audra Smith and Anna Percy
Special Guests:
Melanie Rees
Born in Salford, Melanie Rees has interests including yoga, reading, performing and writing poetry. “I started writing when I was 11 and my work is influenced by spirituality and my family. I would describe my style as quirky.” Her play Drowning Aristotle was performed at Chorlton Arts Festival.
Joseph Hobson
Recently graduated with a distinction in MA Creative Writing from MMU, and performed at Carol Ann Duffy and Friends. stays up to all hours writing poems about melancholic monsters. He used to run 'The Unofficial Chester Book Club', and recently ran 'inked'-an open-mic poetry evening in Chester for a year.
The Stirred e-book we will be creating to celebrate our birthday with is still on going for submissions, so get your poems sent to us at stirredwomen@gmail.com
