1st November 2012
November 1st - The day when it is officially OKAY to start watching Christmassy films - woohoo!
And what better way to celebrate than by spending an evening NOT watching them but rather delaying that grubby gratification in the presence of brilliant poets!
Featuring -
BOHDAN PIASECKI: Bohdan is a poet from Poland currently based in the UK. Since moving to England, he has featured at some of the country’s topmost spoken word nights and festivals, written for BBC Radio 3, and worked as visiting lecturer in Creative Writing at Birmingham University, proving conclusively that Poles really are taking over. He feels equally at home with a rowdy festival crowd and at more sedate poetry readings. He does what he can to offer the former something to think about and to inject a little anarchy into the latter.
LAURIE BOLGER: London based poet Laurie Bolger has sent tears rolling and shoulders shaking throughout UK audiences. Her poetry tells it how it is, no rubbish.
With a mouth as dirty as a vacuum and a heart as big as a whale, Laurie offers words that leave you feeling naughty, leave her feeling embarrassed and us wanting more.
She is currently banned from three National Trust properties, and is awaiting appeal from a fourth, but when it comes to imbibing laundry detergent, there's no stopping her!
Price: £5.00 / £4.00
Time: 8-11pm
