Jenni Pascoe presents
JIBBA JABBA
with support from Apples and Snakes
We are delighted to bring another special guest poet to the awesome Jibba Jabba, this time Manchester’s own Dominic Berry – self-styled ‘Queer, Vegan, Poetic chap’ and author of spoken word shows such as Wizard and The Dragon Who Hates Poetry. A superb night is promised!
Plus there will be the usual quick-fire open mic jam, and sets from musical and comedic guests, all offered up to you by the terrifically talented Jenni ‘Jazzhands’ Pascoe.
“From the moment he started to speak we were totally captivated- the incredible way he uses words, the expression and energy of the delivery and the subject matter made him irresistible.” City Life Magazine
“Exuberant, lively, expressive and totally nuts, Dominic owns the stage.” Writers Connect
2012 has seen Dominic perform his poetry on CBeebies Rhyme Rocket and Channel 4′s My Daughter The Teenage Nudist. He is winner of New York’s infamous Nuyorican Poetry Cafe Slam (June 2011), Champion of Manchester Literature Festival’s Superheroes of Slam (Oct 2009) and a twice Forever Manchester 5 star award winner in Manchester’s Not Part Of festival (2009 and 2011). Dominic's funny, dark and magical tale of an agoraphobic man and his talking kettle, Wizard, was funded by Grants for the Arts and Arts on Prescription for a 2012 UK tour and is now preparing for 2013 dates. Dominic's debut children's show, The Dragon Who Hates Poetry, is currently in development.
