Not only will she be the kookiest performer to tread the boards at Cabaret Shenanigans but Brighton’s bossa nova Belle of the Esplanade possesses a lyrical genius and musical dexterity second to none. And by golly, is she funny?!
Lorraine has worked with Billy Bragg on stage and on record. She has made many appearances on BBC Radio 4 including John Shuttleworth's show. She has also written for Loose Ends.
Her songs are quirky & funny with a sense of kitsch. Themes include: food, film stars (one of her most popular songs is about Julie Christie), mobile phones & launderettes. They have catchy choruses & she encourages audience participation.
Her song "Julie Christie" appeared on the Better Than Chocolate soundtrack.
She sang the vocals on the Fantastic Plastic Machine cover of "There Must Be an Angel", which featured in the British sitcom Spaced.
