Come Strut Your Stuff is a long-running open-floor poetry and acoustic music night which takes place on the first Monday of every month at Liverpool's Egg Café. Please note that it moves to the second Monday of the month when it clashes with a bank holiday.
There are no microphones involved, and the audience listens with enthusiasm, making this an ideal event for anyone wishing to perform for the first time. It is an entirely 'open' floor (anything goes), although the performance of original work is highly encouraged.
We have 5 minute poetry slots, and 2 song acoustic music slots available.
The event starts at 8.00pm sharp. If you want to perform then arrive early, claim a seat (it can get very busy), then find Tony Kehoe to put your name down on the running order.
Names are taken on a first-come, first-served basis - once the list is full (normally by 7.30pm, but sometimes as early as 7.20pm), it's full!
You can, of course, arrive at any time during the day and enjoy some of the best vegetarian food in the city before the event. The Egg Cafe has no license for serving alcohol, so if you want to bring your own you must buy a main course and pay the corkage.
The evening is run by regular host Tony Kehoe & Dave Hartley, with a different co-host guesting each month.
This is a free event.
The Egg Cafe is on the second floor, up steep stairs, and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Full details of the event can be found on the website at www.comestrutyourstuff.co.uk
