A spoken word show. About heart failure. But with jokes.
Having battled back from the brink of death to (almost) full health, armed with pen and pacemaker, Richard returns with a show about his experiences. He expands on the lurid details of his near-near death from dilated cardiomyopathy (heart failure), atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and atrial thrombosis (blood clot in the heart), and on his convoluted convalescence and living everyday life with the condition that will almost certainly kill him. Many acts consider their show to be a matter of life and death. This one literally is.
The event will feature a special poetry competition - perform a poem/piece of writing on a biomedical theme, ideally around 3 minutes long, the contest winner will win not only £50 but an invitation to perform a paid gig in London. If you want to take part let us know on our Facebook page!
