Headliner Kirsty Taylor writes poems about the tiny details of real life in the raw. Accessible and honest, she is a real blast of fresh air. Matt Abbott also operates as Skint and Demoralised and is Ossett's poet laureate, if I'm any judge. Music will be from the Leeds City Stompers. Enjoy.
Price: £2.00
Time: 7:30pm

Reviews for Red Shed Readings
Sorry you feel that way Stephen, but I'm glad you enjoyed the evenings. The last cancellation was outside our control, and we both turned up because we care about our audience. It's very easy to make negative comments, but I can assure you that putting spoken word events on isn't easy, especially as we receive no external funding whatsoever. I don't know what you're trying to achieve by posting negative reports, but you're still always welcome, ( I particularly enjoyed the poem you read in November). In fact, the drinks are on us if you come on Thursday, I think it'll be a really good evening.
All the best

Why I continue to try and get to the Red Shed, I really don't know.
The first time I tried, was before the organisers had the grace to tell people that they only operated for 6 months of the year (not the July evening that I had gone along to)
In a state of pique, I kept away for a while. The second and third times I went along were most enjoyable.
On the 4th and 5th times, I wasn't even asked if I wanted to read in the open-mic (and on one of these occasions, there were only 4 other people in the room). Maybe they were trying to tell me something that none of my friends felt able to do
Tonight (probably only the 6th or 7th attempt I'd made), the room was double booked according to the bar-lady and one of the organisers who came along to confirm that there would be no Red Shed tonight
I give in.

Tonight was just great - thanks.
Well worth a 30-mile round trip on a wet winters evening.
Such a great mix of material, smoothly run and a friendly room to boot.
