"London's premier spoken word and music night" The Southbank Centre
"One of the UK's most important outposts for the future of the spoken word... it's a London treasure." Prospect Magazine
Poejazzi returns to the live circuit with our first gig of 2013, a new venue and a blistering line-up! Tickets are £3 until Friday 25th January, otherwise £5 online/student/concessions and £7 on the door. Tickets available here http://poejazzifebruary.eventbrite.com
Headline act Anna Meredith – signed to Moshi Moshi Records and praised by Drowned in Sound and Pitchfork for her outstanding debut EP Black Prince Fury, she is fast becoming one of the UK’s most innovative artists. With a burgeoning career in the field of slightly off the wall electronica…and dramatic tension-filled nuggets such as Nautilus” (The Guardian) expect a live show to remember.
Harry Baker – is the Boy Wonder who crafts uplifting, funny and observant spoken word which has helped make him the 2012 World Slam Champion and a festival favourite. Harry is most definitely bound for great things…
The Magic Lantern – a beautiful voice, a storyteller’s way with words and a deft hand on the guitar. “Really gorgeous music” (Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6)
Jack Rooke (Roundhouse Poetry Collective/Early Doors) - for those who like their hilarity with a touch of darkness, Jack's narratives seem like they were lifted from the vaults of the League of Gentlemen. He also creates some of the most heart wrenching poetry we’ve ever heard, so expect to laugh and cry simultaneously.
