Dave Ward is co-founder of Liverpool's Windows Project, running writing workshops in community and educational venues since 1976; he is co-editor of Smoke magazine. His poems have appeared in two collections from Headland as well as in Jambo (published in conjunction with Paul Weller), in over 100 anthologies and on BBC TV and radio. Dave will be performing poems inspired by his visits to Singapore (where he was Writer in Residence at Nanyang University), Hong Kong and Northern China.
He will be accompanied by Zi Lan Liao, an accomplished performer on the Ku-Cheng (Chinese harp), which she has played at the Royal Albert and Royal Festival Halls, the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool and the Royal Exchange in Manchester as well as touring internationally.
Nikki Bennett has had six collections of poetry published by Poetry Spring and has performed at poetry festivals in the UK, the US and Europe, including at the conference of International Women Writers' Guild (New York State) and Geneva International Writers. Her collection Love Shines Beyond Grief was nominated for the Ted Hughes Award for New Poetry 2010.
Scott Thurston’s books include Reverses Heart’s Reassembly (Veer Books, 2011), Of Being Circular (The Knives Forks and Spoons Press, 2010), Internal Rhyme (Shearsman, 2010), Momentum (Shearsman, 2008), and Hold (Shearsman, 2006). He edits The Radiator, a magazine of poetics, and co-edits The Journal of British and Irish Innovative Poetry. Scott lectures at the University of Salford and has published widely on innovative poetry, including a recent book of interviews Talking Poetics (Shearsman, 2011).
