Stewart Conn grew up in Ayrshire and has for many years lived in Edinburgh. From 2002-05 he was the city's inaugural Makar. Publications include Ghosts at Cockcrow and The Breakfast Room (Bloodaxe Books) and as editor100 Favourite Scottish Poems and 100 Favourite Scottish Love Poems (Luath Press). He has taken part in Festivals from Aberdeen and Bath to Vilnius and Zagreb and received awards from among others The Scottish Arts Council, The Society of Authors and The Poetry Book Society; and the Institute of Contemporary Scotland’s inaugural Iain Crichton Smith Award for Services to Literature. His pamphlet Estuary was recently published by the award-winning Mariscat Press.
