StAnza 2013 will take place over five days (6 - 10 March plus a pre-festival workshop on 5th March) in around 20 venues in the historic town centre of St Andrews, about 100 events from more than 70 poets plus a further 40 musicians, writers, visual artists, film makers and actors. The numerous participation events include five workshops (two all-day), a Masterclass, a Slam, and three open mics. There's a strong performance/spoken work line-up for 2013 including John Hegley, Jacob Sam-La Rose, Rachel McCrum, Luke Wright, Sally Crabtree, Ghostboy, Rob Barratt, Hannah Silva and Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl from Iceland. Also taking part are Mark Doty, Gillian Clarke, Robin Robertson, Liz Lochhead and Paula Meehan. Topics featured include Welsh Poetry with seven poets from Wales, poetry's engagement with nature and the environment, and with design. The festival's lively hub is at the Byre Theatre where you can meet and chat - StAnza is renowned for being friendly and inclusive - and for those who can't manage along, watch out for live webcasts of several events.
