WordLab with Kristiana Colón: Legacy and Memory

A writing workshop about personal and collective memory. Where do you come from? What’s made you? Where are you going? And how do you balance fact and metaphor to write about it? The workshop will involve both talking through poems from established writers and generating new work, with chances for sharing and feedback.

Kristiana Colón is a Chicago-based poet, playwright, actor, hip-hop artist, and educator. She’s been featured on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, her play but i cd only whisper was a Time Out 4* production for its world premiere in London, and she’s wowed audiences worldwide on stages alongside De La Soul, Ozomatli, and poetry slam maestro Marc Smith. She’s launching her new collection promised instruments, and we are very lucky indeed to welcome her to Edinburgh.
