Inky Fingers is bringing together a showcase of some of the very best of Scottish performance poetry. We’re hosting a big bash for everything that comes out of these brilliant mouths, and we’d like you to come along to enjoy being part of it. It’s a party to say thanks and a party to celebrate the huge diversity of stuff that the Scottish scene is up to. We’re bringing together many different performers of different styles and ideas in a beautiful cacophony of words. Featuring:
NLS Slam winner and love-lover Rachel Amey
Salt International Poetry Prize winner and super-zinester Claire Askew
LitSoc Slam winner and friendliest judge Camilla Chen
Tricolour organiser and BBC Edinburgh Slam finalist Graeme Hawley
Multi-slam champion and Big Word legend Jenny Lindsay
Luminary of COWTSHTF and the Chemical Poets Ali Maloney
ENTIRE PROCESS OF RAINFALL Colin McGuire
Cumnock firebrand and champion of the baths Jim Monaghan
Soapbox organiser and international wowzer Agnes Torok
Craigmillar craic-meister and banter poet Heather Turner
PLUS
performances from the Inky Fingers poets: Alec Beattie, Mairi Campbell-Jack, Harry Giles, Ioannis Kalkounos, Rachel McCrum, Katherine McMahon, Rose Ritchie, Tracey S. Rosenberg.
AND ALSO
The whole show will be recorded by Indiefeed Performance Poetry‘s UK producer, Pete the Temp. This means that you need to turn up to make extra glorious noise for our eventual international listeners, and you might even be treated to some words by the damn fine administrator himself!
BUT FINALLY
Well, this is just one showcase, and as ever we’re limited by time and travel budgets and all that. Scotland’s performance poetry scene is even bigger than this! So here’s to even more showcases in the future, and if you’d like to organise your own (perhaps even while Pete is in Scotland recording things?) then get in touch at inkyfingersedinburgh@gmail.com.
Entry: £5, including free entry to all night jazz
Time: 3.00-5.30pm
