Modern Poetry in Translation at The Brighton Festival
We will be presenting the very best of contemporary European poetry featured in the issue with the winners of the French and Dutch equivalents of the T.S. Eliot Prize for 2012.
Ester Naomi Perquin is winner of the VSB Poetry Award in the Netherlands for her recent Celinspecties (Cell Inspections). Translated by the renowned Paul Vincent.
Valerie Rouzeau's latest collection, Vrouz, has just won the prestigious Prix Apollinaire in France. She has published a dozen collections, including Pas revoir, translated by poet Susan Wicks, shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize and winner of the Scott Moncrieff Prize.
Menno Wigman, shortlisted for the VSB Poetry Prize for his collection Mijn naam is Legioen (My Name is Legion), is one of Holland's most prominent writers. Translated by David Colmer, whose recent translations were shortlisted for the Popescu Prize.
