Ty Newydd Poetry and Picnic
Ty Newydd Writers' Centre are throwing open their doors to welcome readers and writers, and most importantly the local community of Llanystumdwy, to a very special summer garden party. From 12.30 pm to 8.00 pm, some of Wales' best-loved poets, novelists and musicians will perform their work, offer workshops, and generally provide great entertainment for the whole family.
A number of events will be aimed specifically at children and young people, with Welsh-language Children's Poet Laureate Aneirin Karadog, Lucy Christopher and Ed Holden all on hand to offer writing workshops and advice for Wales? future literary greats. There will also be readings by Twm Morys and National Poet of Wales Gillian Clarke plus music from Lleuwen Steffan, Ryland Teifi and Gwyneth Glyn.
Ty Newydd Writers' Centre, which is run by Literature Wales, looks out over Cardigan Bay towards the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park. This truly exquisite view will provide the backdrop for Ty Newydd's sun-drenched (fingers crossed!) summer Open Day. Guests are invited to make themselves at home and to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the garden.
