Jon Bennett’s Dad always wanted his son to be an author… an author like Banjo Patterson. Then his dad died…. but came back to life. Then his father was killed falling off a ladder when Jon was 16… or so he thought. Six years later Jon’s Dad died in front of his eyes on a train… but got off at the next station. Last year, his dad was in a fatal accident…
Jon deeply offended his dad with the last solo comedy show he did about travelling around the world pretending things were his c*ck, and feels he owes it to him to make the new show… about him.
Bennett is a 3x nominee for the Montreal Fringe Just For Laughs Best Comedy Award (2010/2012/2013) and has received a Best of The Fest at the Winnipeg Fringe (2012). Jon has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe (Pleasance, 2012) and major festivals around Australia, his home country. Currently touring 3 shows worldwide, his personable storytelling styles in these narrative performances cut the mines of Jon’s past and have received world-wide praise for his poignant delivery and balance between humour & pathos.
